Unit 4 Loving Kindness

Hello to all, I have recently read an email from the professor that regards the due date of this activity and I apologize for the apparent lateness of this assignment.  On the brighter side, I have listened to the Loving Kindness exercise six times now, three times yesterday and three times today.  This concept is somewhat familiar to me since I have listened to my fair share of subliminal self help tapes, yes tapes, when I was in high school.  My parents bout them for me when I was having trouble concentrating at school.  I guess I'm lucky that they provided me with such a passive solution, whereas in this day and age I would surely be on Aderol or something similar to it.  The thing that I enjoy the most about this form of mental exercise is that it tells you what to do and how long to do it.  With this in mind it is safe to say that anyone can perform this process and hopefully take advantage of what it can do for our minds and our spirits. When I performed this exercise I immediately felt better about myself and every person that I come into contact with on a daily basis.  I think that by sharing the concept of the "mental workout" everyone benefits from the interaction.  If I show someone how to do this exercise and question them on their feeling after the exercise I can develop a clear understanding of how people truly feel about their lives and the people that are involved in their lives.  By compiling multiple cases of these reactions I can make sure that I am treating each of my clients to the best of my ability.  I have decided to include this Loving Kindness exercise into my daily morning routine, even though it was pretty booked, I now know I need this balance to make all the other parts of my routine more enjoyable.  As usual I am so glad to have the opportunity to learn about this amazing inner ability, thank you.

Alright class mates if you are still having trouble I went ahead and made my subject for this blog into the link which works from doc sharing by the way.  It was kind of ironic that finding the proper way to get to this relaxation devise made you need to use it even more.  I have already used color breathing techniques provided by my stress management class that I took recently.  Since I consider myself to be an artist the color breathing methods have had a huge impact on my meditation abilities as well as my artistic creativity levels.  I have done painting that reflect the imagery that my brain creates as I meditate, so it's similar to capturing a dream if I really let myself loose.  Hope all of you will try to see the beauty of colors and feeling the next time you view any art pieces.

Back to my previous blog involving the improvement of our three areas of wellbeing. After reviewing some of my classmates blog responses, I find that any type of concept that you can gather from what they posted can ultimately lead to a better understanding of any clientele I may have to deal with.  The more we know the better they grow.

Unit 3 Questions

1.
A) Based on my personal reflections I would rate my Physical wellbeing as a solid 8 (with 10 being optimal wellness).  I have always been quite active no matter what part of my life I look back on.  Biking as a youth, running varsity cross country in high school, weight lifting program around the age of 30, and my favorite so far, Mountain Biking at least once a week currently.  I also have worked for and believed in Whole Foods and what they stand for in the health and mental fitness realm for over five years now.
B) Based on my personal reflections I would rate my Spiritual wellbeing as a 9.  My definition of spirituality involves self awareness and what I mean to the grand scheme of the world and society.  My spirits are strong enough that I find myself being "the rock" for many of my friends and family members.
C) Based on my own personal reflections I rate myself as an 8 when it comes to my Physiological wellbeing.  My ability to respond to the worlds stimuli is constantly being perfected through the many encounters that I have throughout my work and social life.  I told myself along time ago that I wanted to beat the "curve" so to speak on the old statement, " I wish I knew then what I know now."  I also try to remember that no matter what happens in my life, it is usually a micro minute with respect to my entire life span.

2. My plan for improving my Physical wellbeing might involve a more rigorous aerobic program.  I have become less active during these colder months and the indoor activities have seemed a great deal more appealing.              My plan for improving my Spiritual wellbeing will involve the study of an ancient religion such as Gnosticism.
My Physiological wellbeing needs little improvement, but if anything I want to learn how to understand why others can't think the way that I do.

3. The activities that I can perform in order to improve my Physical wellbeing should be the things I enjoy so that I am more likely to continue these activities such as, biking, running, soccer, and basketball.
The activities that would help me become more spiritually aware would most surely be reading more books on the subject and researching this on the internet.
The activities that would best help me improve my Physiological wellbeing would most likely be involving myself in as many conversations with people, especially older individuals who have lived a long life in which many things have come about that they have had to overcome.  By truly learning from other peoples situations  we can develop the tools that will help us face are own situations in the future.

4.  I am having trouble finding "The Crime of the Century" relaxation methods, but I will post this later.

Hello To All

I think I have finally found out how to properly maintain this unique instrument for our class.  I can understand why the professor would have us use such a tool since this is the only way I would have ever explored it's uses.  My good friend has operated a blog for some time now and was even featured in our local 225Magazine, and this is the only other experience I have had with the subject at hand.  So welcome to my new experience and my answers to unit 3 learning center are to follow.
